Campaign update - the fight goes on

Petitions - we are closing the petition on 31 January, so please continue to encourage friends and family to sign online, or take the paper copy round to your neighbours, on the school run, or down to the local football match - and help collect as many signatures as you can.  We've got more than 3,500 to date - let's see if we can reach our target of 5,000.  Once you've completed your sheets, please drop them into the Ilkeston Advertiser office on Heanor Road.  If you are unable to do this, drop an email to info@saveilkestongp.co.uk and we'll arrange to collect them from you.

On 1 February, we'll be passing the petition to Jessica Lee MP, who has kindly agreed to present the petition to Parliament - which is great, as it gives us another opportunity to raise the profile of our campaign to save the centre.

In addition, we have arranged two events:

On 6 February, NHS Derby will be holding their monthly board meeting at Cardinal Square, 10 Nottingham Road, Derby, DE1 3QT.  We will be holding a protest outside their offices from 12.00 - 14.00.  We are currently organising coaches to take people from Ilkeston, so keep your eyes open for more information.

On 15 February at 16.00 we will hold a torch vigil outside the Ilkeston Family Practice and GP Walk In Centre, to mark the closure of the GP service that day.

So, make a note in your diary.  Please get behind the events, and make every effort to attend.  It's important we continue to make as much noise as possible, and both these events will attract a lot of media coverage, which will help our campaign.

Thank you for your continued support.
